LATEST PROJECTS

Department Site

As part of my professional development, I have been working on creating a department website for the Pembroke Academy Social Studies Department. I have been soliciting wants/needs/work from individual teachers, and then creating a website that will provide us with the tools that we need to help develop a strong 21st Century curriculum for our students. I also developed a PD specific page for our department and school.

American History Site

In order to integrate more technology and better resources into my American History class, I have created a website for myself, my colleagues, and my students to use that augments the curriculum.

History of Your Life Site

This course covers modern history through a generational studies focus, and the site integrates the vast amount of on-line resources with the basic organizational needs of the course.

Global Studies Site

My plan has been to make the classroom more digitally enhanced, and this website has been created in response to this drive.  It is more fully integrated with other tech tools (including Twitter, Facebook, blogger, YouTube, and Google Docs). This site is used as an exemplar of how to use a website to enrich learning. This site also includes an online lesson plan book from the European unit.

2011 NHCSS Annual Conference

Gaming in the Social Studies Classroom, presented with Matthew Benard

This site is the resource that was designed to  accompany a presentation that I gave with Matthew Benard at the 2011 NHCSS Annual Conference in Manchester, NH. The presentation was about the use of video (and computer) games in social studies classrooms-specifically in the upper grades.

Pembroke Academy Compliments

Pembroke Academy Compliments

As part of our 2012-13 Professional Learning Team, I worked with Alison Gelinas and Jay Bachelder to create a "Pembroke Academy Compliments" Facebook Page. The goal was to create a space that encouraged "saying nice things" at P.A. Thus far, this is what I am most proud of this year.

Game Elements & PLD

"Using Game Elements to Craft Your Professional Learning and Development Experience"
Presentation on the importance of using aspects of game design in the planning of your school's/district's PLD. (Learning Forward Annual Conference in Orlando, FL on December 5, 2017)

Millennials in the Workplace

Millennials in the Workplace

In 2011, I also presented twice to the NHASEA about the upcoming wave of Millennials in the workplace, and how that pertains to managing them in an educational setting.

Mahara Tips and Tools Website

As part of the Plymouth State University program, it is expected that you occasionally use Mahara. This is just a website of videos gathered, links amassed, and tutorials created to help everyone maneuver the nuances of the eportfolio program.

This is just a sample of my work, if you would discuss other presentations, my current professional goals, or would like to view my Mahara portfolio that was created to meet the standards for the Curriculum Administration Certification, please contact me. >>
